| Getting your name on the sign is oddly exciting. |
I got to work on the essays for the district selection and made it to the top five finalists for the District Teacher of the Year. Talk about shock and awe! After panel interviews and observations I attended the TOY ceremony where they announced that I will represent our whole school district as the 2017 Clay County Teacher of the Year at the Florida Department of Education Teacher of the Year Roundtable and Gala.

It's hard to find the words to describe this experience. My administration, instructional coach, and parents challenged me to dig deep and helped me edit essays. They were all there along with my peers and friends to celebrate this achievement and opportunity with me. The pride from the students and families is exhilarating and inspiring. It was truly one of the most incredible and humbling moments of my life and I'm so proud to represent my peers and my county on a state level. How lucky am I to do what I love with people I love everyday! What an amazing experience!
